There are 2 different types of headlamps on a VW Camper. There was a cross over period in 1972 where some Campers Vans Had the early type and some had the later type.

The easiest ways to tell the difference is in chrome rim.

The early ones 1968-1972 have 3 screws in the rim. 2 Adjusting screw and one to fix the headlamp to the actual Van

The Late ones 1972-1979 have 1 screw hole in the rim. Just to fix the rim to the Van. On these later ones the headlamp is seperate from the chrome rim.
